During my internship with the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass I was tasked with developing a magazine ad and thank you cards for the facility’s 10-year anniversary. The ad was published in Glass Quarterly and the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass magazines in celebration of the anniversary and as an advertisement of the facility. Both pieces are adaptions of each other. The front of the Glick Center personalizes the artwork and ties in its location on the edge of Ball State University’s campus. The names below the building form its foundation from all the donors the facility has had up to 2020. Warm light emanates from the windows, representing the furnaces and friendly atmosphere inside. I used the transparent bars of color to mimic bars of colored glass and to symbolize the creativity of each individual person who works and learns at the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass.
