The mascot created for Bar Keepers Friend and its companion brand Shop Keepers Friend was designed by me as part of a team project. We named him Geoffery to make it easier to discuss him while working. He started as a bunch of sketches, designing both his appearance and working through poses and personality at the same time. Dark purple pants tie into the purple and orange color scheme, while his light blue shirt contrasts against it to ensure he stands out. He was made as a friendly man who can be a physical representation of the ideals of Bar Keepers Friend. Geoffery gives off the masculine feeling of the original Bar Keepers Friend packaging without alienating other demographics and his youth and approachable appearance can appeal to a younger audience. We wanted a character everyone could enjoy.
